Doesn't Microsoft already back up my 365 data?
Microsoft protects against failures on their side — a data center outage, a corrupted server. That's availability. What they don't do is keep an independent copy you control: once deleted items age out of the recycle bin (roughly 14–30 days), they're gone. Backup means a separate, managed copy that survives deletion, ransomware and offboarding.
