Motorized wheelchair stolen from Peoria man

PEORIA, Ariz. – A motorized wheelchair was stolen from a Peoria home and the owner hopes someone will find it and call police.

On Sunday just after midnight, Kennard Higgins Jr. called police to report that his motorized wheelchair had been stolen from his carport near Peoria and 71st avenues. He had left it to charge overnight.

Peoria police spokesman Jay Davies said Higgins, 42, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1996 and has had the wheelchair for a year.

The wheelchair is manufactured by Quantum and both fenders have been removed from the rear wheels. Davies said there is a monkey sticker near the steering control box.

Anyone who locates the wheelchair or has any information about the theft is asked to call police at 623-773-7045.

PLEASE DONATE to help Mr. Higgins replace his motorized wheelchair
